Hey guys gave the keets some corid after a few dropped dead. Is that all I can do for them? I know once they get Cocci its pretty hard to come back from that. What are early signs of it?

Is the chick starter you are feeding medicated?
Guinea keets need a high protein starter which also has the proper amounts of lysine, methionine and niacin. No chick starter meets these requirements. A quality turkey or gamebird starter will meet their needs. Most turkey or gamebird starters do not contain amprolium which is the ingredient in medicated chick starters.

My concern is that they are getting to much medication. If they have medication in the food AND the water, it could be enough to be toxic.
I also ony get gamebird starter fo all my baby guineas, it is non medicated and have never lost one.
Not sure where these babies came from. Were they shipped in or brooded or incubated. Maybe they had shipping stress and the first ones you lost were because of that. The rest are not sick, and its something else.
How old are they right now?
The hay, if it concerns you and keets are still getting sick, change your brooder to well aired out pine shavings. Who knows about this hay, maybe there is a toxic weed in it.
How about heat and venilation?
Too hot or to chill can cause problems.
If the brooder box is to tight, stong smelling pine shavings, or aromatic hay under a heat lamp could overpower there respritory system.
Baby keets are fragile if something is not right.
Take a look at the whole picture, and Keep us updated.
Please.
