I put my probe on top of the eggs, just under the heater. The temp stays stable as long as it stays near that heater. If I forget to move it back, it cooks trying to heat the edges of the 'bator to 101.5*F. I've noticed about a 1* difference between the space under the heater and the far edges, which hasn't affected any of the eggs I've put in it. I use a 9200 for hatching, the 9300 is just for the first 18 days.
