Still no eggs

The nest boxes are easy to get into and you can tell they have been in them as there are feathers in there. They also used to sleep in the nest boxes when they were still to small to get on the roosting bars. The coop is 320 sq feet not including the nesting boxes so they have 3.2 sq feet per chicken. I kept them locked in until 3:00 pm two days in a row with no eggs. I also have brown very realistic ceramic eggs in the nest boxes.

I just don't think they are laying yet.

Hi, our chickens started laying at around 9 months. Just be patient and then eggs will start coming. We have 13 chickens and get at least 7 a day, so it's definitely worth the wait.

Another suggestion is to have an egg laying room which have boxes with a soft material in them. This is so the chickens have privacy and a comforting place to lay their eggs.

As long as 1 chicken lays, then all the others will follow. I hope this is helpful :D

First egg today. Placed in right in one of the nesting boxes. It's very small, but it's perfect.
