Greetings all,
My birds are about 3 months old now. I have 20, 17 hens (bramhas, rirs, speckled sussex, barred rock, 1 cute little millfleur), 3 cockerels (1 polish, 1 Australorp, 1 partridge silkie)
They get to free range about 40-60 hours a week and love it. They'll make a commotion by the gate to get let out in the yard.
My problem is my silkie cockerel. I'm new at this, but he seems awfully aggressive, especially considering none of the hens have reached maturity or is laying yet. He's not real friendly to people and he'll run at the other roos if they start to crow. He's tough on the hens too, who all try to run.
The breeder said I could return silkie cockerels. Is there hope he will become more friendly, and how would I train him to be so, or should I take him back?
Thanks for the advice!
