I am going to repost a few pictures of my bantam to see if I can find out what kind he/she is. Also anybody know when we will know whether it will crow or lay?

She is awfully cute! I am not sure the breed. If it's a hen the average time they start laying is 26 weeks. Some start earlier and some later. Depends on the chicken.

Three of them look like bantam Amerucanas (Easter Eggers). The one in your hand looks like a BB Red or Blue Breasted Red OEGB.

Looks like an EE, but without the green legs. Strange. She is gorgeous, though! ^_^

  6. The chick in the last picture looks to be a black breasted red oegb.

Quote:I agree. I had one that looked just like that. It was the noisiest chick of them all. We nicknamed him "The Evangelist" because he would stand up tall and straight in the brooder and just talk up a storm to all the other chicks.

I vote for Easter Egger. They're supposed to be sort of "mutts", right?
