STILL WAITING... for the first eggs

We have 13 Reds that are just over 5 months old. No eggs yet. We are in cold climate. We have had snow the last month and cold along with it, but we have had three other batches of chickens that never seemed to mind. Any ideas??

I made them new laying boxes. They have fresh oak shavings. Good water, plenty of chicken food as well as treats. (venison trimmings) Just confused.

20 weeks is on the early side given the shortened day light hours. Days will be gradually increasing, and they will lay.

It can seem to take forever before that first lovely egg shows up, but it will!
