Hi! I have 3 Gold Sex Links hens, 18 weeks and 3 RIR hens, 17 weeks. Last week we got our first two eggs. It came from the largest of the GSL, she is the only bird laying. The day she started laying one of the RIR hens wanted her dead. I mean dead. I took the boss hen out and have been trying to rehabilitate her evil ways. She’s proabaly dinner soon. My question is what’s taking the other two GSLs so long to get started? Is there an issue I should be considering? Feed? Space? I figure the RIR should start laying in about 3 weeks?

The one pullet that is laying is an over achiever who just happened to mature earlier than the others. Patience.
