I have a 3 almost 4 week old chick named Butters. I recently determined it is a white leghorn I think rather than the Buff Orpington I thought I was getting. LOL. It has been perching and flying its coop since basically week one. Super sweet but OMG it has the stinkiest poop. I do not think it is cecal poop because 75% of its poops smell like puke. I treated them all for Corrid. No one else has poop with this smell but this chicken. I do not have a weak stomach but man of man his stinks. But then about 25% of the time it is a nice healthy solid poop. This chick eats well, is hyper, (maybe the most hyper) I thought it was a roo BUT since discovering it is not an oprington as I was told I think it could still be a pullet. Any ideas on the stinky poop?
I fed them unmedicated through Corrid treatment. Followed dosing instructions from here as advised by all of you Chicken Whisperers. The one I was actually worried about is completely healthy and thriving. Whatever is wrong with this chicks poop is NOT contagious as they have all been together for 3 to 4 weeks now and this is the only one with this issue. I keep forgetting to take photos but it always looks like cecal poop for 75% of the time. The 25% of the time it is a healthy poop it does not smell. Any idea why?????? Also any ideas or guesses on gender? No pink in the comb at all! Butters is a snuggler and this is the only pic I have with me for now Butters.jpg

Is your white chicken larger than the others, and possibly a meat bird? What are all of the things you are feeding? Try some probiotics, such as Probios powder in the water.

It is no larger than the Barred Rocks and Red Sex links but bigger than the EE and the Buff Orpington by a tiny bit. They really only eat chick crumble. They have had mealworms a few times but they are provided Chick Grit to familiarize them. They are back on medicated now because of the corrid treatment being over. I had already bought a HUGE bag so I went back to it after the treatment. I bought him from a local man who ordered a ton of chicks from the hathery. he had Red Sex Link, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington. And he mentioned white leghorns but they were SUPPOSED to be in another brooder than the others but I am thinking they were not. I am NOT being funny but he was blind. Seriously so his wife came out and did her best to determine what was what.
