our additional chicks will soon be ready to go outside so we need a bigger coop. today we started working on it.

we are making a green roof on top with a skylight. we boxed it in and we cut the holes on the side for the nest boxes. this thing is gonna be awesome. we hope to finish the major work tomorrow and i will be able to get some pics up soon. after that we will need to paint it and finish getting the green roof in working order. i am excited.

I am also installing a bathroom vent fan due to its extreme insulation.

finally got it done

we had to divide the run down the middle after the bigger hens started ruling on the 3 new silkies. so the silkies get the new coop for now until they can all get use to each other through the chicken wire. most likely not until spring.

we are going to now put up white trim and stain it green. to somewhat match our house. it is very visible from the street and obviously a chicken coop. trick is to make it look nice so no one complains. even though i comply with local codes.

i don,t know if i mentioned this before but we also doubled the size of the run before dividing it in half.
