I have about 16 hens - mixed breeds, from one - two years old. This summer they all have stopped laying. We are getting maybe 1 or 2 eggs per day. They receive cracked corn and laying pellets. They have an automatic waterer. They have a large chicken yard, coop, a rooster to guard and are get fruit/vegetable scraps. A few were showing signs of molting but most are not. They pretty much stopped laying in August and have not started back up. We did have a very hot and dry summer (I live in south central TX) but the coop and yard are shaded by 2 hugh trees. Help! I'm about ready to call the butcher!
