i have a flock of 10 rhode island chickens that are about 1 year old.

Since friday i have only had 2 eggs. I know it is coming up to winter and they go off laying but to go from 7 or 8 a day to 1 is a bit much.

Can anyone help

I'm waiting for an answer too! Out of 16 hens, I'm getting 3-5 eggs a day! A couple are molting, but hey, they have to start earning their keep again.... soon!!

With 15 hens, we would normally get a 12 -14 eggs a day. Next thing you know, you got a couple broody hens and a number molting, then there is a change of weather and cooler nights (some near freezing), and more hawks flying overhead looking for food ..... and you get 3 or 4 eggs a day, if you are lucky.

Make sure they have a high quality feed, calcium and fresh water. Make sure they are not being pestered by any predators. And be patient.

edited for spelling

If they are moulting it may be awhile before they get back with the program. They do slack off and some quit laying. Be patient.
