I’ve mentioned this before, but now it’s like a game for my only Rhode Island Red. I’ve figured out when I let them out in the morning to just spread some mealworm treats and I’m safe. Now, just walking into the yard, she runs toward you, most of the time I have to just pick her up. Today when I had to pick her up, another girl used that as opportunity to peck her. When I put her back down she came at me again, except she managed to peck the heck out of my arm. I’m at a loss of what to do....

Let me get this straight. The issue is the RIR coming at you in an aggressive manner? Or is the issue with other chickens pecking the RIR?

I looked up your other thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/what-the-chicken.1343233/ where you brought up this issue, and it appears that @DobieLover gave you the same advice I was going to give you, that being to use your finger to deliver a "peck" to the back of the aggressive chicken when she pecks you. Did you ever try that?

You've observed how other chickens attempt to discipline this aggressive bird by pecking it. That should give you a clue that is how chickens deal with aggressive members of the flock. Chickens understand this language and respond to it. You should try it.

Can you post a photo of this aggressive chicken? As others have pointed out, you may be dealing with a rooster, and that's a whole different ball game.

I’ll attach a picture, but I know for a fact that she is a pullet.

It took me a couple months to train my Surly to stop pecking at me. Even now, every now an then she'll try it. I'm very quick to peck back several times, even following after her to do it. And yes, sometimes I picked her up and carried her around for a while. She's a sweet girl and the first one to come up to me now. And btw, i do the same with one of my cockerels right now. He's not as bad as she was, but he's trying to stalk me from time to time. I definitely chase him down and peck at the back of his neck several times. He's learning.
