that runs on D batteries. They last for 2,4 or 8 hours. I haven't tried it yet. This will be my first Va winter with chickens so I don't yet know if I'll need it. I don't think either will help the OP, who's talking about days, but for overnights it might work. Anyone tried one of these?

at the most its 2 MABEY 3 days. I usually get up there once a day though. I have decided for the good of the chickens to send them off for the winter
its gonna cost me 25 bucks a month not including feed cost to house them at a local farm but I feel its the right thing to do. My chickens do fine for 2 days without me up there. I have proper feeding systems and waterers and over the months of trial and error i feel most things (predators aside) are fool proof. If a fox or yote were to get in my coop whether it was closer to my house or way back in a field it wouldn't really make a difference. Unless of course I heard them being attacked at which point I would head out and shoot them.
