Ok help . I know baking your egg shells , cherishing them into a fine powder and using them on your garden can help your garden BUT can I use my store bought eggs for the same purpose .... my chickens haven’t laid eggs so I’ve saved all my store bought egg shells just need to know before I mess up my garden

Yes, those shells will be fine. All egg shells are mostly calcium carbonate, ours and market eggs. Calcium is an essential nutrient for plants.

If your soil is clay you probably don't have a shortage of calcium anyway but it won't hurt. If you add chicken manure to compost it's generally got a lot of calcium in it too. A lot of the extra calcium we feed our laying hens doesn't get absorbed by their body and goes on out the rear end. If you have a garden and chickens you should be composting.

I've never tried this but supposedly a method to control slugs is to use egg shells. I don't necessarily trust the method but it shows up on organic gardening sites. Instead of making a powder just crush them and put a layer of crushed egg shell under the plants like a mulch. Supposedly they don't like crawling on the sharp edges.
