Has your flock done something that made you say "Aw! That's so sweet and wholesome! "? This is the place to tell that tale! Ik the title says chickens, but stories of ducks, turkeys, quail and the like are welcome too!

I will start us off with a story that happened yesterday evening. So I went outside yesterday evening to put the girls up for the night and everyone was just heading inside. My buff orpington Juniper was trying to go inside but was obviously confused. I was trying to get her to come over to me so I could pick her up and place her inside but as I was doing that one of my lakeside eggers Lavender came out and showed her the way inside

When I had my first chickens I had 2 Salmon Faveroles. One of them (Sweetie) had something wrong with her. I never could figure it out but frequently the other one would put her wing over her and cuddle.

Same thing when one of my girls, Blondie (Buff Orpington), got attacked by a hawk. I got right out there so she only had a couple of scratches. Her bestie Squeak (Bielefelder) also put a wing over her and sometimes her neck while Blondie was recovering from the trauma.

I used to have rabbits, and one of my roosters decided that the baby bunnies were his babies. He would nest on them at night, and lose his mind when they left the nest to explore. One dug a hole in the dirt of the pen and wouldn't come out, and he screamed and carried on until I came out to retrieve the bunny. He was a very sweet boy and I miss him.
