My chickens lay eggs randomly in the yard sometimes. I've been fascinated with them all though lately, and I've been trying to make an incubator so I can hatch some. I feel like there's been such a waste when I crack them open, and see that they are fertile! There's baby chicks just waiting to develop.
I don't quite have all the supplies yet.. I'm on a shoestring budget at the moment (.. Okay, I don't get my allowance until the 15th. xD). If I keep collecting eggs (I have a silver phoenix egg and possibly a guinea or sebright egg in my room), am I able to "store" them until I "set" them all at once?
I've never heard of this before. All my life I thought if the egg got cold, it would die instantly. With more recent research, I'm guessing this is actually false? If someone could enlighten me on this subject, that'd be wonderful! I would love to hatch some eggs.
Thanks!
