Storing Feed in Hot and Humid

I am trying to remember which mineral we used to buy in bulk for this and I cannot think of it. You can also just put DE right in the feed and that helps too. And heck, even charcoal briquettes will work.

Red Lakes Datamatious earth is sold as a drying agent. Mix it with your feed at 5%. (The bag says 2% but use 5%) It has many other properties and is good for the chickens. The Red Lakes brand has many minerals in it. I get mine at the feed store for $15/40# bag. The nursery also has it but it is $25. If they don't have the Rd Lakes brand, be sure it is Food Grade. Mix it with their bedding and in their dust baths to keep bugs away. When eaten, not only does it provide many minerals, it keeps worms away. My chickens also eat it straight, like calcium or grit.

This is not Red Lakes brand, it does not provide the minerals.
