hi chicken keepers, i'm just wondering how long could you store fertilized eggs.

i read in some online sites that u can store f. eggs in a refrigerator or chiller for 49 days.

is that true? or if i freeze them, will the embryo die?

I have a book about hatching eggs. So as I remember if it is long term storage, store about 40-45 degrees; BUT DO NOT FREEZE. For shorter time period, less than 21 days, a slightly higher temp 45-60. THere are other factors to consider too: humidity and turning, etc.

MOst hatcheries store for 7-10 days for a reason: the hatch rate is better. Bit if you need to hold them longer, just know the hatching rate decreases. GOod luck.
