How do you keep your freshly made bread? I know I can freeze it. But, how do you keep the bread on the counter, or the fridge, for daily use?

Do you entwine it in plastic, stuff it into a ziplock, wrap it in foil, or tuck it into a towel?

I've been making the Gump bread into sandwich rolls. I put them in a ziplock gallon bag and leave them on the counter. They're gone within 4-5 days and they've kept really well. When I do make a larger loaf I've been keeping them on the counter in foil so I can warm them in the oven.

In the cold weather months, I can leave my homemade bread on the counter, but in the summer it can mold faster than I can eat it. I also keep bread in the refrigerator at times. My bread is usually put in plastic/zip bags. Unfortunately, I eat it faster than it can dry out. That's the thing with homemade bread.....it's good enough to eat.

That's what I'm doing. I didn't know if there was another way to keep it fresher. I just wish we would eat it up faster. If we only eat half a loaf, and the chickens eat the other half, is that really cost effective?
