One of my hens has started laying Jumbo Eggs. They are too tall for regular egg cartons. How can I store them? Currently, I have to place them in a bowl, but wondered if there is an egg carton that can accommodate them. Any ideas?

If you are keeping them for yourself, just cut the top off of a carton to accommodate her eggs. You can cover with foil to keep strong food odors in the fridge out.

Thanks for the replies. Since it is only one hen laying the big ones, guess the bowl is the best for me. Wonder what duck owners do, I think they lay jumbos routinely?

We have one hen who lays jumbos. We don't wash our eggs and store them on the counter on an egg skelter. The jumbos and the normal larges as well as the occasional medium we get all fit just fine.

I have leghorns who lay big ones, also we have smaller ones that lay double yolkers. What's an egg skelter?

It's a circular ramp for storing eggs.

We actually have two so we can get up to four dozen eggs at a time. We don't often have that many because we use them fairly quickly and have a neighbor who loves the fresh eggs.
