i have a mottled japanese bantam. I want to incubate the eggs but i only have one hen. Is there a good way of storing them one day at a time or can i add them to the bator everyday?

This may seem like an obvious question but... do you have a rooster? If not... there's not much point in setting the eggs, because they won't be fertilized.

Okay, don't smack me if you already knew that.

Otherwise, yes, you can save the eggs for up to ten days with good success--longer with declining success. I would place the eggs in a cardboard carton, large end UP, and just keep collecting them for five to ten days until you have however many you want, and place them all at once.

If you add them one at a time to the incubator, you're going to run into all kinds of complications at hatching time when they all have different needs. So I would go with setting all at once.

Good luck.

Here's what I did...(followed advice from here)
I tried not to store any more than 5 days...
I stored in a carton, large end up, and 2x's a day I tilted it. (I put on side up on a brick, so that its at a slight angle, then at night put the other side up)
I stored them at about 63-73 degrees (back of barn or basement)
I collected 6 eggs.

dropped one...
2 weren't fertile...but, 3 are still fine.
I just kept reading all the good advice on here and gave it a go.
Good luck to you and have fun!
