Our Dominique hen thinks thunder, lightening, hail and tornado warnings are perfect weather to go out and hunt for yard yummies!

As long as your bird has access to cover, he should be fine.

Is there a way he can get covered? A tarp maybe? Our pullets hide out under their hutch when it rains, even though they have the option to go inside.

kinda he has a xxxxl rubermade tube WITH HOLES ON TOP! and i forgot to put the tarp on it

If there are taller things than yourself around and you stay away from trees I think you should be fine. While you're out there, why don't you just put him with the rest of your flock?
