It's good to meet someone else who has chickens, ducks, miniature goats, dogs and cats (plus, I have a couple of hair sheep and two geese)!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your ducks, especially that it might have been a bear! Here. my biggest worry is coyotes. I don't worry too much about scaring them away when I hear their outdoor concerts, but a bear -- Yikes!

So sorry for your loss. It will be back. I hope you have a powerful charger for your electric. Bears have thick fur and need a good jolt. Some people bait their wires to get the predators to touch the electric tape/wires with their nose, lips or tongue, the more sensitive parts so they will get the message. I have electric wires around my pens and coops and a powerful charger. If anything touches my wires it will know it. Good luck...
