I decided to take some more pics...I don't think the 2 blacks are the same breed...they are built differently besides the large size and feathering difference...the smaller chick holds its tail upright and has a more "delicate" build than the larger chick, who holds its little fluff of a tail out more...here are some pics...
This is the larger chick
This is the smaller chick
These are the "yellow" chicks...upon closer inspection the 2 with less feathering seem to be feathering in a very light buff/off-white color, only the one with more feathering has it coming in white
anyone else?...does anyone agree that the 2 black chicks look like different breeds?...any of these photos can be seen larger on my flickr account... http://www.flickr.com/photos/stinaksu/
I'm sorry, I'm really no help with chick breeds. Up at the TSC in St. Clair (above Pottsville), we had no bantams either. But I did get 6 straight run chicks for 50 cents each the other day. I'm thinking they're RIR (production) or sexlinks, but then again I'm clueless. The kid didn't know either. I told him to look for bigger combs because I want roosters, but it looks like only 2 have bigger combs. Oh well! Guess I'll have more eggs than meat this time.
They had ducks there too, but I don't know what kind those are either.
