Strange behavior = eggs soon?

Yes they squat when you reach out to them, sometimes even if you pass your hand near then,

It is a sign they are ready for a rooster and also shows they are close to laying. It worked with my girls anyway.

They also get larger and red combs and their wattles drop and become red, you will not miss this.

They do get noisy sometimes, I have 4 all the same breed, 2 make so much noise it is incredible and my neighbours listen out for them, and 2 are totally silent.

Sounds like yours are coming close.

Good luck.

I let mine free range in my back yard. Will they know to go back into the coop and lay their eggs in the nest box? I'm worried they might lay eggs under a shed in the yard. It's real dark under there.
