True they grieve, never thought of that either. I had 2 hawk attacks on 2 young Cochins, I was devistated and all the hens were too. Its probably been a month since and they still watch the sky, if the little roo or anyone makes a sound of warning, they all run for the hen house and stand away from the window. It was so sad, still is.
So just keep her covered (in a building where she can feel safe) give her a small peice of cheese or mac and cheese. Not much due to the salt in it, but often its one thing that will draw them back up to the table. Also a few sprigs of fresh grass can attract their attention to food or water. I honestly can't believe how affected these girls were.
Not only that, but often hawks will wait and watch making the girls nervous, this one I had would litterally stand on the roof to the chicken house and that drove them nuts. I would lock them in the hen house to bring them back to feeling safe.
Poor baby you have! Good luck with her.
