aart, thanks we will try the wire pen strategy not wanting any babies at this time......

Buy a good one with a feeder and drinker, if you have 7 BOs, you really need it.

As I try to plan this I'm at a loss on where to put the wire cage, it's on of the large dog cages and will not fit in the coop.....not sure if it would fit in the run ands well.....ideas???

That's why I got the smaller ones.
Had 2 big ones(42"L x 28"W x 30"H) from the dogs,
but got a few 24"L x 18"W x 19"H to use for chickens.
Easier to get bird out of the smaller ones.
They work great and fold up for storage.

You might be able to leave it outside in run during day and put her on roost after dark at night until you get smaller crate.
