Strange behavior?

I have two drakes, and I noticed that one had made a little hole in the on the ground and was laying in it. It’s like hidden be hind the duck house, is this normal?

My Muscovy drake makes a nest inside his house in the shavings he loves to do that. As for outside if it’s really hot where you are the cool dirt probably feels good.

Yes, it is very hot here! As we live in Tampa, Florida. Thank for your replies, my boys are a year old, so I am fairly new to duck behavior...

Well I have had to keep them separate since spring, but yesterday the spent all day together with no issues. I think their hormones are calming down...

Are they supposed to be getting new feathers around this time?

Yes they are I believe it’s called Eclipse. That’s great they can be back together again now. @thumper650 has an all drake flock.
