Just wanted to post here and see if I'm worrying about nothing again 😅.

So Raspberry (Pekin duck) has been laying for about 3 months now. Recently she stopped for a week, and I figured it was just because we're heading into fall.

Today she laid this egg. Her eggs are usually really white with no colored bloom. This egg looks strangely greenish (hard to see in the picture). This is even after I rinsed it a bit in water. Is this anything to worry about?

I think @KaleIAm had a funky bloom too.

It's weird but I don't think it's dangerous 🤔

It is true. Except my duck had been laying slightly off white eggs for 7 years before she gave me a green egg! She went back to laying her regular off white for a few weeks then gave me another greenish one. *shrug* In between the green ones she was due for her yearly physical and bloodwork, including radiographs. All came back normal, and her vet said she was looking great. I told her vet about the bloom surprise, and showed the vet the photo and they said it wasn't concerning since her labs, behavior, appetite, and energy was normal. It sure seems concerning, doesn't it? But, this was months ago now and my duck is still doing great!

Here's my thread about it:

Thanks for your response! Your thread helped a lot. From everyone's responses it seems like sometimes it just happens 🤔.

She's acting completely normal otherwise, so I'll just leave it down to egg production weirdness! 😅
