strange build-up on the surface of the egg shell - is it normal?

Hi there!

One of my Easter Eggers, being a hard-working layer for more than a year now, recently started showing a strange build-up forming on top of her egg shells. See the blue egg in the picture below.
This has been consistent for the last week or two... No change in the diet, and nothing like that seen in other chickens' eggs...

Is this normal, or maybe a some kind of decease?

Any help will be much appreciated!

It is just a build up of calcium on the shell. Its not a disease so nothing to worry about there. Not sure what causes it or what's the solution for fixing it.

I am a New Egg like you and learning as I go, so you can take what I have to offer with what it is worth. Is she stressed? Maybe a bit of change in her diet might help, for example adding vinegar in the water may break down the calcium build up or giving her plain yogurt may help her digestive track. Good luck, I know how you feel as I am a sucker for my girls now and I am spoiling them all the time.
