strange chicken behavior...

I have a small backyard flock and all of my chickens are friendly eating out of your hand and most will let you pick them up and hold them. I only have 1 chicken that wants nothing to do with being pet or held. The strange thing is about 2 times a week she will start to pant and run around the yard frantic and when she does that she will chase me down and jump up into my arms. If im not outside she will peck at our sliding glass door until someone comes out and holds her. I have found that when she does this she normally lays a some what larger egg then normal for her. Is she chasing me down for help? Anyone else experience this??
