So this was a 5 mo old rooster with a purple comb. I thought he was beautiful. Then he seemed to have impacted crop. After 48 hours he was no better starved and massaged. Decided to take him out of the flock and butcher him for info. He was almost meatless and huge looking? No fat. But the black meat along the bone areas is my question. What the heck is this

Was he by chance crossed with a Fibro Bird, like Silkie, or Ayam Cemani, or Swedish Black Hen?

If so then it's more then likely pigmented meat from Fibromelanosis.

I'm unsure of the roosters origin? And the female was Easter egger or Rhode island red or Plymouth rock? It had the dark leg skin like the other skin so I thought maybe it is not for meat chicken?

Can you get pictures of the blue hen, & get skin pics? She could be a Fibro Easter Egger, I have one.
