Fighting raccoons can make some sounds like banshees flying right out of hell! Years ago I stood on my porch at 2:00 a.m. and listened to the scariest sounds I have ever heard. The noise was coming from across the road in my neighbor's apple orchard. It literally made the hair stand on my neck. Blood curdling screams and snarls and even the sounds of bones crunching. I called my neighbor the next morning and she said it was raccoons and her husband had to go out with his gun, but they ran off when they saw him coming. I'll never forget that sound.
