I was candling my duck eggs today, and i found this dark mass in one of the eggs. It is not the duckling, I know that for a fact. The mass is kind of jumbled up in the veins (which appear very healthy) and it was not there yesterday. The embryo is alive and moving, so I know this is not a blood ring. I fear internal bleeding from a single broken vessel, but otherwise gave no clue. I have never seen this before in my chicken eggs or my other duck eggs.
P.s. I know the air cell is very small, my neighbor who was watching my dogs and checking the water level on the incubator put too much water, and the eggs were stunted in evaporation for a week. I am working on fixing the air cells before they hatch, adding rice, lowering water level, etc...
