I'm just wondering why my Black Australorp is staying in the run today when all the other pullets and our cockeral went out to free-range. She is staying with the 2 newest birds I have who are still too nervous to venture out, and they are also the lowest on the totem pole so they stay away from the rest of the flock still. Wondering if she just decided (since she used to be the lowest in the pecking order, or close to the lowest) that it is safer and more fun to stick with the newbies, who don't pick on her? She's way bigger than them. OR, could it be that the fireworks last night freaked her out more than everyone else? Most of the flock is 14 weeks including this Black Lorp, but the 2 newbies are 11 weeks. Thoughts on this Australorp not going out to free range with her girls?
ETA: she doesn't act sick at all either; I checked her vent and she's clean and healthy, with no mites or other symptoms whatsoever. She even pooped really big when I put her down and it was firm and white capped with nothing weird about it.
