Collected eggs this morning and one of the eggs seemed really light and the outside of shell was rough like that "non slip" stuff people paint on the their steps. I cracked the egg and found it didn't contain either a yolk or a white. The yolk was found in
the air sac and the membrane of the egg was hard as though it was "calcified". Has anyone seen an egg like this before? If so
what would cause this and should I be worried about the hen that laid it?

is it old hen? pullet? or your not sure..are thry getting enough natural light? oyster shell, sometimes its just an anomoly that will pass..something to keep an eye on, if it continues , you might not ever want to breed that one.

Hi I am not sure what age the bird is, but none of my birds are older than 2 years of age. could this problem be related to
diet?
