I have a small backyard flock of laying hens. One of my araucanas lays eggs that have a rough surface, rather than the usual smooth surface, and the shells are quite thin. My other hens' eggs are normal. Does anyone know what this condition is, and what I can do about it?

Hi! How old is the hen? Sounds like a calcium defiency. Do they have oyster shell free choice? Maybe you can save the egg shells, and once dry...crush them up really well, and give them back to the hens. They love it, and its great for their egg production.
