I have an easter-egger who laid an egg that had no shell or, it had no form at all just like an egg in a frying pan. The next day my australorp laid a shell with no egg. When I went to wash the egg it broke and there was nothing inside. I'm wondering what's going on. Our weather has gone up to 100* can that make a difference? They are about a year old once I got a soft egg so I continue to give them oyster shell. They are free range and I give them layer crumbles and lots of fresh water as well as fruit and vegetables once a day and dried worms. Any ideas?
