Hi all,
Just looking for some advise on if the feathers on our drakes head require any treatment.
Shortly after he had his green feathers on his head grow in we noticed his feathers below his eyes seem to be a little thinner and could see his white skin underneath. We thought it could be down to him becoming more 'active' with our females but his feathers have been like that for a few months now and wanted to see what could be causing it.
It's only visible at certain angles. We've check their bedding and house for mites, we replace their bedding every other day, they get regular access to their pond and the larger one in our garden. Our two females don't show any signs of bald patches so it's only affecting our drake.
He does seem to scratch at that area when he is preening so wasn't sure if he was over preening. Or if it's normal when a duck gets into adulthood and will disappear come his next molt.
Thanks for any help all!
Would anyone have any ideas?
