Strange feathers, what variety of Silkie?

Hi! I recently purchased a batch of silkies of various colors (now 5 weeks old), and the two black ones have these unusual feathers! Has anyone ever seen this? Will they stay, or fall out? They're really cool!

So from what I've been told, silkies are the hardest breed to sex. You basically have to wait for an egg or a crow. But someone told me who has raised and bred silkies for the past 20 yrs that when silkies start getting their feathers, you can sometimes tell a rooster because they get what's called streamer feathers on their heads. Thats what your picture looks like to me. But I'm not an experienced silkie breeder and just letting you know what I was told.

They are absolutely right! The only problem is, they are too young for that, and these are growing out of her tail! 😇

Oh lol I guess it would have helped if I would have really paid attention to the picture lol. I have a silkie that kinda has featherng like that. I just thought it was a thing🤷‍♀️ yours are a little longer though I believe. Whatever they are, I love them

Yes!! Those are the type; not pinfeathers, but full feathers of their own type- your photo is better than mine. :) Glad to see yours are still there, maybe mine will stay, too! ☺️
