Hi, I am new to your site and have a question, I recently hatched chicks from a mixed incubator and kept two thinking they are Marans from the batch, as of their feathered legs I kept those two. The other chicks were given to a friend. The two I kept are now 3 weeks old, but their combs look strange for Marans. Can you confirm if they are Marans? Thanks

I'm not an expert but the chicken at the front left of this pic is a BCM that I raised. Yours look like they probably are based on how mine looked at a similar age.

thanks for the replay, the combs look good for a BCM to you?
The combs on yours still look a little more like a pea comb, but I would give it a little more time to develop. The one I showed in the pic ended up being a roo, so his comb developed pretty quickly.

No... Those are pea combs. Possibly Olive Eggers.
BCMs are born with Single combs. OEs could hatch with pea or single but yours are obvious.
thanks you
