Strange gait in prolapsed hen. Is this a result of the prolapse or something else?

I have a hen who suffered a prolapse about a month ago. We've had a daily ritual of bathing her and attempting to reinsert the prolapse (with no luck - because she keeps pooping it back out and no vet will treat her) since then, but she's remained in high spirits and well - eating and drinking as normal.

Just recently she's developed a strange walk. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, just lifting her legs very high into her body as if stretching. It would be comical if it wasn't a bit concerning. I've checked over her feet whilst bathing her and there are no signs of bumblefoot, injury or anything else. Could this be discomfort as a result of the prolapse?

have you checked her vent to see if she might be egg bound? you can feel her belly too to see if you might feel the egg. I know being egg bound can sometimes cause them to walk strangely and sometimes even walk like a penguin. you can do a good exam and see what you find. I wish you the best. good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think she's egg bound. I've been reinserting her prolapse daily and examining her at the same time. We've also been giving her corn, fruit and greens as opposed to layers pellets to try and stop her from laying and making her current condition worse. I will keep an eye on her, though I doubt this is going to end well. Only had chickens since Feb, so all a bit new and scary!
