Strange grey growth on beak

Hi all,
I have just returned from a trip to find my little lady has this strange growth on the top of her beak. Any ideas what this might be?

That is a common spot for injuries from sticking one’s beak through wire fencing and sometimes on feeders that may be sharp. It should heal eventually. She has a little mark on her right wattle which might be a peck, but watch for any more scabs in her or other chickens in case of fowl pox, a viral disease from mosquitoes in hot weather.
