Thank you all for the input.
Food is typically available all day and they free range but our feeder got clogged yesterday, thus the bowl of food and voracious eating. The sounds have only been heard when eating. The first time was two weeks ago when we were handing out some treats and the Comet stole her pecan (a treat they also devour like there is no tomorrow). Their may be something to this idea of food getting stuck from eating too quickly
From a quick look around it seems that gapeworm moves quickly; so I'd expect to have seen some wheezing and breathing difficulty by now. I also checked her throat last night and couldn't spot any red worms, but the light wasn't as bright as I would have liked.
