STRANGE or FUNNY NAMES

My fathers middle name was Homer, DH's middle name is Barton. So we joked that we were going to name DS 'Homer Barton' and call him Homely Bart for short... And no, our last name isn't Simpson.

My great-grandmothers name was Nellie. I have a great great Aunt named Olive and one name Ermel (yeah, like the cat from Garfield, but loooooong before then). My daughter's name is Arwen and people are forever spelling it phonetically, like Arwin or Arwynne, which drives me nuts!

My name is Knox - which many find odd i guess - came from Dads side where there men named Olin - Meredith- etc

My great aunt was named Zilla. we wanted family names, but that one? God! Zilla... just thought that would be awkward. my cousins middle name is Oe. My other cousin is named Fang... but she's chinese, so it's okay.

My mom's name is Billie Jo (from east Texas). My dad called her William Josephine.

My granddaughter's name is Jaylee - comes from my dh's middle name Jay and my middle name Lee.

Someone PM'd me to caution everyone about using surnames, i.e. mother's maiden name, on the internet. If you do genealogy, of course, your information is already out there, but thought I'd mention it.

For once I have nothing to add. Many strange or funny people in my family, but their names are somewhat boring. I'm the most normal person that I know.
