Soory for vague title, but know good way to describe.

Subject, approximatley a 3 year old Black Sexlink hen, completely average in size and weight.

Symptoms, Walking very elongated and holding bottom end down towards the ground and wabbles as she walks,

She is eating and drinking well and other hens appear to pay her no mind.

No sign of injury,

Clueless as to cause she was fine day before yesterday.

I do not know what else to tell ya, I will pay more attention this weekend as I will be home in the daylight for a change.

Thanx,
G

Feel around on the front of her - you may be able to feel the eggs.

Someone experienced would probably tell you to feel in her vent after you lube up a finger. If you can feel an egg there, you have to help it out if possible.

How long has it been since she laid?

The best treatment I have found for egg bound hens is this. Fill a bucket with warm soapy water. Dish soap works great. And wear old clothes

Ease her down into the water holding wings so she doesn't splash ya..... About 15 minutes with her butt in the warm water and it relaxes her enough she can usually push egg out. good luck.

Good news, Friday I was all prepared to to give a warm soaking, but fortunately she had been able to lay the egg before I got home. She is now walking and standing correctly.

Thanx for all the help!!!

G
