Strange Rooster Behavior. Is this normal??

Well that is what he's doing lol! The youngest one here does a nice little spin every morning wagging his tail the whole time. I'm wise to that dance,he learned it from his dad. The other boy is waiting to be picked up since he's a biter with no common sense at all. He's pretty but really dumb and he's going to be huge so he's got to go. He never even tried to shake his booty, not a good sign.:p

Howdy yal!
Every morning my rooster waits at the front door to be let out, so he’s the first person who jumps down. But, the past 2 days, he has been doing something strange. As soon as I open the door, he puffes up and makes this strange cluck. The only time I’ve heard this is with a rooster who is attempting to mate with a hen. Once he’s on the ground, he will peck my feet 2 times each foot. Luckily for me, it isn’t a peck-your-toes-off peck, more like he’s hunting for worms or something. Do yal what he is doing? Is he attacking me? Just being crazy? I’ve never had a rooster before so I’m new to all of this! If you guy have any tips for caring for roosters also, I would love to hear them! Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a teenage boy pushing limits.
He may challenge you later or he may try to romance your feet.
When he does that again pick him up and hold him, carrying him around will remind him who's in charge.

Not sure where the article is... but I think about post 18 or 25 in this thread will give you a jist of things...

I don't buy ALL of it... but it's a VERY good tool to help clue people in.

To me it's important not to be seen as part of the pecking order, not to kick or swing at them as it escalates things. I allow boys to eat but walk through them at will even at the feeder. Use the suggestions and adjust them to work for YOU if you can. :fl

This is a natural hormone raging time for your boy... a challenging time for many. But lots do make it through and become flock leaders respectful of the giant who brings good food. :)
Do you think it is okay to smack his feathery bum and whack the ground near him? I don’t want him to anger him or him hate me!

I wouldn't. I don't smack or whack sticks near my boys. It isn't necessary and if it has gotten to the point where you're considering this as an option then that rooster may not be one you want to keep.;)
