strange roosting

My chickens started roosting in the coop area as apposed to the hen house. seems kind of weird to me. anyone have any ideas as to why?

Sounds like they were roosting in the coop and now are avoiding this. So something must have triggered the change.

This is a question I have seen many times on the forums. You can search to find older threads for the solutions offered there to see if they fit your situation.

More info can get you more opinions : pic of your coop, run including past indoors roosts and current roosting location. Has there been any stresses in the flock? Have you inspected the coop for pests?

Hope the cause and solution will be forthcoming.
