I have a silkie hen I'm treating for wry neck with vit e and b1 complex. She doesn't really eat or drink much on her own so I've been slowly syringing water and giving scrambled egg yolk. I've tried mash and even flavored it but she shakes it out her mouth every time. She's so skinny now and I'm thinking shes not getting enough with just the egg. Would it be ok to give her Exact Formula? If so how much can she get per feeding, per day?

I know you weren't asking about this, however,
to syringe feed her, you have to put a tube connected to the syringe down into her crop (and avoid the hole for her breathing). Here's a helpful youtube video on
tube feeding chickens.
If you give mash, make sure she has some grit in her system.
I have watched a few vids on it but am afraid of aspirating or hurting her. I know it's a little higher risk with the syringe but i go very slow, drop by drop.

I definitely get it being scary, but you have significantly less chance of aspirating her with the tube than with syringing it into her mouth. It is also safer to use a longer tube to prevent regurgitation and choking.

Thanks! I will probably give it a try because she definitely needs more intake
