That is a great idea! I'm in a similar situation and I keep my roo in my brooder box in the insulated shed. Works great aside from one problem... I've got an incubator full of eggs that are due this weekend and no brooder to put them in! LOL

I made the divider out of one of these cut into a panel. They are cheap and definitely cheaply made but they are handy to have

I know this is an old thread, but if you used this technique to muffle your rooster's crow, would the straw bales not be perfect for harbouring red mites?
